PYROASIA Symposium 2024

You are cordially invited to attend the PYROASIA 2024, the fourth International Symposium on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, scheduled to take place during 28-29 November, 2024 at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. PYROASIA is the flagship annual event of Pyro Asia Forum.

PYROASIA symposium has been a successful annual scientific event to bring together experts, working on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis. To increase interaction and collaboration among researchers within Asia, IIT Guwahati and Frontier Laboratories, Japan, are organizing the fourth regional International Symposium on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis 2024.

The PYROASIA symposium aims to foster a network of researchers, academicians, and industrialists dedicated to advancing and commercializing pyrolysis and related technologies for future fuel applications. We encourage participants to submit their original work for presentation on the topics as mentioned above. PYROASIA Symposium 2024 will feature plenary lectures, keynote lectures and invited lectures. Further, this conference stands as a testament to our commitment to advancing the frontiers of science and fostering meaningful dialogue among scholars, researchers, and practitioners from across the globe.

PYROASIA 2024 announces Best Masters/PhD Thesis Award

Deadline: 20 NOV 2024, 5 PM

Masters (MTech/MS/MSc) and PhD students who have defended their thesis in this year (01.01.2024 to 15.11.2024) may submit their application for Best Thesis Award. There will be TWO (02) Awards: 01 PhD Thesis and 01 Master’s Thesis. Candidates are requested to fill the format and submit all the required documents in a single PDF file to kmohanty@iitg.ac.in. Please mention in the subject of the email: PYROASIA 2024 BEST Thesis Award.

A committee comprising Experts will evaluate the applications and the Awards will be declared in the closing ceremony on 29 NOV 2024. The awardees will be informed a-priori by 22 NOV 2024 over email so that they can register for PYROASIA 2024 and receive the award in-person. The Awardees MUST attend the closing ceremony to receive the award. The Awardees are required give a ORAL presentation on their thesis work during the symposium. The Award will carry a certificate and a memento.

Places to Visit

Guwahati city

Guwahati,the "Gateway to Northeast India," is a major city in the Indian state of Assam. It serves as an important cultural, commercial, and educational hub for the region. Kamakhya Temple, Umananda temple, Guwahati Passenger Rope way, Assam State Museum, River cruise on Brahmaputra river are few notable attractions to visit in the city.

Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga National Park, located in Assam, India, spans around 430 square kilometers and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros. Established as a reserved forest in 1905 and declared a national park in 1974, Kaziranga features diverse habitats including wetlands, grasslands, and forests.
The park is home to various wildlife, including elephants, tigers, wild water buffaloes, swamp deer, and numerous bird species. Conservation efforts focus on anti-poaching measures and habitat management, making Kaziranga a successful model for wildlife protection.
Tourism is well-developed, with jeep safaris and elephant rides available, and the best visiting months are from November to April.

Manas National Park

Manas National Park, located in the Himalayan foothills in Assam, India, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, a Project Tiger reserve, an elephant reserve, and a biosphere reserve. This designation highlights the park's importance in global conservation efforts and its rich natural heritage.
The park is renowned for its unique biodiversity and beautiful landscapes, featuring lush forests, grasslands, and the Manas River. These diverse habitats support a wide variety of plant and animal life, making it a critical area for ecological research and environmental preservation.Manas is home to several endangered species, including the Assam roofed turtle, hispid hare, golden langur, and pygmy hog. The presence of these rare species underscores the park's role in protecting India's most vulnerable wildlife.
Additionally, Manas boasts one of the largest populations of the Bengal tiger and the Indian one-horned rhinoceros. These iconic animals are significant both for their ecological roles and as symbols of India's natural heritage, attracting conservationists and tourists alike.

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Morigaon district of Assam, India, is about 50 kilometers east of Guwahati. Covering an area of 38.8 square kilometers, it is famous for its high density of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses, earning it the nickname "Mini Kaziranga." The sanctuary also hosts a diverse range of flora and fauna, including over 2000 migratory birds and various reptiles. The best time to visit is between November and March, when visitors can enjoy jeep safaris and elephant rides to explore the area. Pobitora plays a vital role in the conservation of the one-horned rhinoceros, contributing significantly to the preservation of this vulnerable species.
