Symposium on Advances in Thermo-Fluid Sciences

September 5-6 2025

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati

About the Symposium

Thermal and fluid sciences form the backbone of numerous critical technologies—from energy systems and aerospace engineering to microelectronics and healthcare. As the global demand for high-efficiency, sustainable, and innovative thermal-fluid solutions intensifies, a dedicated platform for exchanging ideas and breakthroughs becomes essential.

The Symposium on Advances in Thermal and Fluid Sciences, to be held at IIT Guwahati on September 5 and 6, 2025, will serve as a vital forum for researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to present state-of-the-art research work, from novel experimental and computational techniques, and to explore emerging challenges. Renowned researchers from across the country and around the world will deliver invited talks, offering deep insights into recent developments and future directions. These lectures will be an excellent opportunity for the audience to gain valuable knowledge and perspectives from leading experts.

By gathering global experts and young researchers alike, this symposium will hopefully play a key role in shaping the future of energy, environment, and technology through the lens of thermal and fluid sciences. Also, a special session will be held to celebrate the scholarly and professional contributions of Professor Gautam Biswas. Prof Biswas is currently Senior Emeritus Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus and formerly Director of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.
