Recognizing Excellence in Algal Research
Early Career Award for Excellence in Algal Research 2025
This award will recognize and encourage accomplishments and innovation of unusual merit by an individual in early stages of their career.
Eligibility:
- A nominee must have received their Ph.D. before 31st December 2020
- Must be below 40 years of age as on 20th October 2025
- The nominee must be having a permanent position at any Academic and R&D organizations as well as Industry
Selection Criteria:
Creativity and impact of the researcher in the early stages of their independent career along with service to the algal research community will be the primary criteria for the award.
Nomination Process:
Self-nomination by the candidate is accepted, however all the applications must be endorsed by a proposer/nominator who must be an accomplished algal researcher (other than PhD/Post-Doc mentor).

Award Presentation:
The award will be presented at the inaugural session of AAR 2025 at Kochi on 3rd November 2025. Winners MUST attend AAR 2025 and a slot will be given for the oral presentation of their work.
Emerging Researcher Award for Excellence in Algal Research 2025
This award will recognize and encourage accomplishments and innovation of unusual merit by an individual during their PhD as well as 3 years after PhD as a Post-Doctoral researcher.
Eligibility:
- A nominee must have received their Ph.D. before 31st December 2022
- Must be below 35 years of age as on 20th October 2025
Selection Criteria:
Creativity and impact of the researcher will be the primary criteria for the award.

Self-nomination by the candidate is accepted, however all the applications must be endorsed by a proposer/nominator who may be PhD/Post-Doc mentor.

Best Masters/PhD Thesis Award
The Organizing Committee of the 3rd International Symposium on Advances in Algal Research (AAR 2025) is pleased to announce the Best Masters/PhD Thesis Award to recognize outstanding research contributions in the field of algal science and technology.
Eligibility:
- Open to candidates who have successfully defended their Master's or PhD thesis between 20th December 2024 and 30th September 2025 in any area related to algae.
Application Requirements:
- Extended abstract (2–3 pages) summarizing the thesis work.
- Soft copy of the thesis (PDF).
- Proof of thesis acceptance/degree award.
- Recommendation letter from the thesis supervisor.

Best Oral/Poster Presentations Award
Based on oral and poster presentations during AAR 2025, at least 6 best Oral/Poster Presentations Awards will be given.
Award Details:
Winners will be announced during the Valedictory Session of AAR 2025 at Kochi, and will receive a Certificate and a Cash Prize.
