How to Reach IIT Guwahati

  • Nearest Airport: Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (20 km). LGBI airport is connected to all major cities in the country and is approximately 35 minutes drive from IIT Guwahati campus. Both offline and app-based (Uber, Ola, and Rapido) cab services available from the airport.

  • Campus Transport: An eco-friendly transportation E-Buggy services is active for internal transportation, Fare: ₹ 15 for travel between any two points on campus, Service Timings: 7:45 am to 6:15 pm, Payment: A dedicated QR code is displayed on the windshield of each vehicle. Tourist destinations near Guwahati

Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India, offers a rich blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and spiritual landmarks, making it an attractive destination for conference attendees from India and abroad. The city is home to the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas, and the scenic Brahmaputra River, where river cruises provide a memorable experience. Nearby attractions include Umananda Island and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary known for its one-horned rhinoceros.
