PhD Forum

The third ISEA International Conference on Security and Privacy (ISEA-ISAP 2020) will be held in Guwahati, Assam, India on the beautiful campus of IIT Guwahati. It is sponsored by Information Security and Education Awareness Project – Phase II (ISEA-II), an initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India, to promote activities in the field of Information Security and Privacy. To promote and encourage the young researchers in the domain of Information Security and Privacy, a PhD Forum will be organized doing the conference. This forum will help students to interact with pioneer in their domain of research and getting valuable feedback on their works. Applications are invited from the eligible young researchers across India for the PhD Forum.

Eligibility

Doctoral students who are currently enrolled in PhD program in any Indian Institutes and the student id working in research topics relevant to the conference. The list of relevant areas can be found at https://event.iitg.ac.in/isap2020/index.php.

Documents to be submitted

  • Filled up application form (download application form )
  • A two-page summary of the research work of the student.
  • A copy of proof of studentship. A letter from the Head of the Department/Institute will be sufficient.
  • A recommendation letter from PhD supervisor.

Selection Procedure

There would be a two-tier selection process. The initial shortlisting would be done by the Selection Committee. Incomplete submission will not be considered for selection process. The short listed nominees will be invited to make a poster presentation before the Selection Committee during conference in IIT Guwahati on 1st March 2020. The Selection Committee would then recommend the nominee for conferment of the Award. The award will be presented during the valedictory session of the conference on 1st March 2020.

Awards

The Award shall comprise a certificate and Rs.5000/- in cash for the best thesis,Rs.3000/- in cash for the best thesis for the 1st runner up and Rs.2000/- in cash for the 2nd runner up. The award will be presented during the valedictory session of the conference on 1st March 2020.

Travel Support

Travel and Accommodation supports will be provided in the conference for some selected participants. The travel support will be equivalent to the 3-AC train fare from the student’s Institute to Guwahati. You need to apply separately for Travel grant. Accommodation will be provided in the students’ hostel in IIT Guwahati campus.
