Fellowship Application

Fellowship applications are invited from students and faculty of Indian engineering institutes for attending the 3rd ISEA International conference on Security and Privacy (ISEA-ISAP 2020) to be held at IIT Guwahati from February 27 to March 1, 2020.

Application

Applications are seeking through online system. A Gmail account is required for submitting the application. The application link is given below.

  • A recommendation letter in the format indicated below must be uploaded as a part of the application. For students, the letter must be endorsed by the research supervisor/project guide and the head of the department. For the faculty members, the letter should be endorsed by the head of the department or head of the Institute. The templates are given at:
  • Please submit only one form per applicant.
  • A write-up (Maximum of 1 page) mentioning the reason to attend ISEA-ISAP 2020 as a fellow must also be uploaded.

  • Portal will be open for application submission : 19.01.2020
  • Last date for submitting application : 31.01.2020
  • Notification for award of fellowship (first list) : 02.02.2020
  • Notification for award of fellowship (second list) : 13.02.2020
  • Notification for award of fellowship (final list) : 24.02.2020

The notification will be sent out on the provided email address as well as published on the conference website. After the notification of first list, the selected fellows have to confirm whether they are availing the fellowships and attending the full conference. Based on the response confirmation from the first list of candidates the second list will be notified.

Important Guidelines

  • Scholars/students whose regular paper is accepted in ISEA-ISAP 2020, and research scholars whose thesis is accepted for doctoral dissertation award or poster presentation in Ph.D forum are encouraged to apply for the fellowship.
  • Few fellowships are open to research scholars and students (even if they don’t have a paper or poster in ISEA-ISAP 2020) who are working in security and privacy area or those who wish to explore this area.
  • Based on fund availability the organizing committee would like to offer fellowships to few faculty members also.
  • The organizing committee is mainly interested in reimbursing the travel expenses for fellowship awardees from the distant cities/towns as the budget limitations may permit reimbursing these expenses only to some extent. Hence, aspiring candidates for fellowship award are advised to opt for these reimbursements only on the need basis as your genuine discretion would help organizing committee to award fellowship to more aspirants.
  • Conference registration is free for fellows. The registration fees (if already paid by regular paper authors) will be reimbursed to selected fellows if the fellow have full attendance in the conference from 27.02.2020 to 01.03.2020.
  • Travel support is given to only candidates who have fellowship. Such fellows are eligible for round-trip 3-tier AC train fare/AC bus fare from their place of study to Guwahati. However, if the fellow is using any other mode of transport (by air, higher class trains) to reach Guwahati, they will be given only eligible class (3AC/AC bus) fare In such case, the fellowship committee will determine the fare given at official website of Indian railway or state road transport corporation. Local taxi bills to/from railway station/bus station/air port to/from home/college/hostel will not be considered for reimbursement. Travel expenses, if approved for reimbursement will be calculated as per shortest route of travel by AC 3-Tier/AC or actual (whichever is lower).
  • The organizing team of ISEA-ISAP 2020 is planning to provide free accommodation for fellows from outside Guwahati. Only a shared accommodation in IIT Guwahati hostels/ guest house will be provided to fellows. Final information regarding place of stay and other logistics will be informed later. Accommodation will not be provided to the fellows belonging to Guwahati. However they will get free conference registration.
  • It is imperative that the fellows attend the tutorials, main conference and Ph.D forum day (total 4 days). Lack of attendance may result is cancellation of the reimbursement of the registration fees and travel expenses. Kindly note that fellows have to plan their journey such that they IITG on or before 8 am 27.02.2020 to attend tutorials. Accommodation will be available from 26.02.2020 10 am onwards. They can leave only after 3 pm on 01.03.2020 from the conference venue. Late arrival and early departure request will not be entertained. In such cases, the fellowship committee reserves the rights to forfeit a partial amount of the registration fees.
  • Identity card showing their affiliation is a must to get the reimbursement.
  • The reimbursement after proper scrutiny of submitted bills/tickets and boarding passes will be done within 30 days after the completion of the conference. Reimbursements will be paid online through Bank Transfer. Kindly mention the correct bank account details when asked for.
