In the Anthropocene era, river bank erosion and flooding are among the critical environmental problems and have been found to increase at a faster rate due to changes in climatic conditions, geomorphological features, and escalation in anthropogenic activity. With long experiences of success and failure, various new ideas have evolved and many are implemented on pilot basis globally.
