Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is located just on the outskirts of the city of Guwahati and is well connected to other parts of the country by road, rail or air.

There are direct air services from/to Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with connectivity to all major cities in the country and direct train services from/to all the metropolis and other major cities. Air India, Vistara, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir operate regular flights to and from Guwahati.

It is around 20 km from the heart of the city and around 40 min drive from the airport. To reach the institute from the city, there is an Institute bus service that runs regularly to and from the city.

A) From Guwahati Airport
In the Arrival Lounge (inside Airport), there is a prepaid taxi counter. You can book and take a prepaid taxi to IIT Guwahati. The taxi fare is: Rs. 800 approximately. Share-cabs from the airport is also available for the cost around 200.
B) From Guwahati Railway Station
Exit through First platform 1 Gate towards Panbazar side.
Book a cab/taxi to the campus directly.

To reach the institute from the city, you can avail of the Institute bus service that circuits between the campus and Guwahati. Please download the one-stop app from the playstore to find the bus timing. The bus can be boarded at  Panbazar - Fancybazar - Bharalumukh - Kamakhya Gate - Maligaon - Adabari and Jalukbari. Commercial Private Transport Vehicles and Auto Rikshaws are also available.
